Yes. Trichomoniasis can usually be cured in both women and men with a prescription drug given by mouth.
According to the CDC's STD Treatment Guidelines, the drugs of choice for trichomoniasis in both men and women are a 2 gram dose of either oral metronidazole or tinidazole. An alternative regimen of metronidazole is suggested at 500 mg, twice a day, for seven days.1
Intravaginal treatment with metronidazole vaginal gel has been shown to be ineffective and is not recommended.
